Roanoke wine business raises money for the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation
Proceeds from a local business’s wine sales are helping kids with diabetes.
Mr. Bill’s Wine Cellar on Brambleton Avenue is hosting a fundraiser to aid the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in the fight against juvenile diabetes.
For the last few years the store has featured specialty wine. Two dollars from each sale of those bottles go to raise money for research and a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
The store’s owner says the fundraiser is getting more successful each year.
“One of our good customers is involved with JDRF and she had approached me not long after we opened the store to see if we’d be willing to do something like this and we thought, yeah, thats a great thing,” owner Bill Philips said.
The wine is $8.99 per bottle.
The event goes until March 23rd.
